SAFEGUARDING ADULTS IN NORTH LINCOLNSHIRE – NHS North Lincolnshire

NHS North Lincolnshire is part of the North Lincolnshire Safeguarding Adults Board a multi-agency group created in 2009.

  • NHS North Lincolnshire is committed to the protection of vulnerable adults who:
  • Are over 18 years
  • “May be eligible for community services” No Secrets (DH 2000)
  • Whose independence and well-being would be at risk if they did not receive appropriate health and social care support and who are unable to protect themselves from abuse.

Abuse includes physical, financial, emotional, sexual and Institutional in a variety of domestic and care settings.

This includes adults with physical and sensory impairments, mental health problems and learning disabilities; however they have arisen, e.g. whether present from birth or due to advancing age, chronic illness or injury. They also include carers, family and friends who provide personal assistance and to adults on an unpaid basis.
