Hospitals
Did you know if your doctor decides you need hospital treatment you can choose to be treated at any NHS hospital in the UK? Not only this but you can choose from many private hospitals. The idea is to give people greater control and flexibility over when and where they receive their treatment.
Why would I want to choose my hospital?
There are many reasons for choosing your hospital. You may want to choose the nearest one to your home, or one that is near friends or relatives who don’t live locally. Alternatively you may wish to make the decision based on hospital cleanliness, waiting lists or performance ratings, etc.
What if I don’t want to choose?
You can choose to take your doctors recommendation if you wish.
Do I have to pay anything?
No, you won’t have to pay for treatment at any NHS Hospital or approved independent hospital.
Is this offered for any medical condition?
A choice of hospitals is available for most medical conditions. However, not all hospitals treat every condition.
How do I find out more?
